200

I am done. I have bored even myself with this blog, so for now on, I will just be back to selectively updating my regular blog instead of forcing a picture every day. It just wasn't working out for me. Jumpingdaisy.com

May 1

The man of the house loves zucchini cakes. Surprising, given that they are both made out of a vegetable AND they contain no meat, but as Cory completed the first lawn mowing of the season, and the very first at our new house, I prepared him his special request.

April 30

We had the pleasure of watching Mabel so her parents could have a date night. As soon as I sat down with her I had two more little girls on my lap. You may guess that it was because they were jealous of Mabel getting my attention, but in fact, they were jealous of me getting Mabel's attention. They spent all night trying to impress her and giving her lots of hugs!

April 29

Her first trip to the dentist and our shy little girl even let them clean her teeth!

April 28

She told me that she was putting tattoos on. I didn't really think much of it until she had been quiet for a while. Needless to say, this became bath night.

April 27

Just because, I love my monkey girl.

April 26

Just as I posted Thea's bedroom wall during the week of her birthday, here is Leila's. I feel like I have blogged the story of Leila's birth so many times that I shouldn't go there again, but I will say that along with "dark beauty" Leila also means, born at night. When Leila was born with already brown eyes just after the midnight hour we had no doubts about the name we had chosen for her.

April 25

We definitely have a princess girl on our hands.

April 24

This is kind of how I felt after a day of cheating on my diet.

April 23

We are so lucky to have such wonderful small people in our lives. And nearly every one of them has a spring birthday!

April 22

The beautiful birthday girl, looking so grown up with her new haircut.

April 21

April 20

Pathetic. And it looks even worse now. Next year will be better, that much I know.

April 19

Loving the early morning sister time as Leila reads to her sister. Thea loves to be read to and to sit right in the middle of your lap!

April 18

Zoey has turned into nearly a totally outside dog. I think she is as sick of us as I am of her. She comes in to sleep at night, and is always close by when Thea eats though.

April 17

Since I just don't have enough going on this spring, I decided to try my hand at gardening. Step one, set up a raised bed. Thanks Cory and my little helpers!

April 16

I will of course post more tea party pictures on my other blog, but my official photo of the day for Leila's tea party is from the calm before the storm. I set up the table so for the girls, and made a little "flower" arrangement for the table. It lasted about 10 minutes.

April 15

At Kindergarten round up we were informed about family night at Van Allen. We figured it would be a perfect way to get to spend some time getting to know the school building and get the girls out for a little something different. We all had a nice time and the girls came home with lots of treasures that they won playing games at the carnival.

April 14

As you should all be well aware of by now, my sister Cassie is a rock star. She helped me prepare for a marathon weekend of birthday prep and even coordinated a birthday party craft of cake decorating for Leila's friend party. Love her. And her fondant.

April 13

Leila was so excited that she talked about kindergarten round up for days before the big event. When we got to the school she about to burst, and when the kindergarten teachers stood at the front of the room and called for the kids to come on up and explore their new classrooms she shot out of her seat faster than anyone else and didn't look back.

April 12

This was so funny I had to take a picture. Leila is so sweet to her sister and when they sit together and Thea asks for help spooning her yogurt into her mouth, Leila is quick to volunteer to help. After Thea's yogurt was gone Leila started to dig into her own container. Only every time Leila would lift the spoon out of the container, Thea would open her mouth, hoping for just one more bite!

April 11

Today marks the end of week one of the South Beach diet carb detox. One more week to go and I can start adding in some fruit or whole grains. It hasn't been nearly as hard as I expected it to be. I haven't been craving the sugary snacks that I ate a whole lot of before, but I am feeling a little sad about not having them. I think that says a lot about my relationship with food. I don't know what I will do when I am out of this phase, and am faced with a chocolate chip muffin or a brownie, but I do know that I have learned a TON about nutrition in the past week and I am hoping to keep this up until I can feel a bit more comfortable with myself. Pictured here is taco night, with hearts of romaine taco shells. It was good, and filling!

April 10

A preview of the kitchen. I LOVE the back splash. LOVE IT.

April 9

This was our strategy to keep the kids busy while we worked on a home improvement project this weekend. It worked for a short time. Thea mostly supervised.

April 8

We have a great Friday night thing going with the Weber's, and we were due for a visit. Now that planting is just around the corner Matt was tied up on the farm but we got to enjoy the company of the rest of the Weber Clan, including this little beauty, Miranda.

April 7

Puzzle girl strikes again!

April 6

Learning the most important skill in bike riding...ringing the bell.

April 5

Do you see what I see? That is a GREEN bud on my tree!

April 4

Thea had her well baby check up with Dr. Saunders, and because of the timing, we also got a lunch out with just our little girl. It was strange to not have Leila along, and Thea thought so too. She kept asking about La-La.

April 3

This picture is SO Leila. I love my free spirited little girl!

April 2

It pains me to put this picture up. I look terrible. My hair looks totally weird, my coloring is off, likely due to a bad make up job and I am fat. But this is the only picture I have from the day...taken by my lovely mother in law who is in no way responsible for the ugliness that is this picture! :)

April 1

Baby girl's first night gown. She LOVES it! Ask her who is on her dress and she will grab her belly with gusto and shout out, "MINNIE MOUSE!"

March 31

Our seedlings just keep on keepin' on!

March 30

As the weather begins to turn, Leila is sure to lead her sister outdoors. Even if coats are still required, at least there is no snow!

March 29

My little helper.

March 28

Progress!

March 27

Leila had a birthday party to go to on Saturday evening and she was very excited about it. Friday night she told me with a sad look on her face that her friend had said that Leila's little sister was too small to go to her birthday party. Of course she is, and she did get to have a fun evening out with Daddy alone while Leila and I both tended to our other plans, but I can't get over how sweetly Leila looks out for her sister and the fact that she asked if she could bring her sister with her to the birthday party speaks volumes to me about how she feels about Thea.

March 26

Weekends are awesome. I love a good Saturday morning with the family. On this particular day Daddy was giving the girls horsey rides, and then they decided that he should have a turn too. Priceless.

March 25

Babies having babies...

March 24

The window sill in the bonus room. A medley of Brand new baby Leila pictures, two vases...one from my dear friend Amanda, one from my aunt Sheila. The centerpiece would probably be the Buddha, that I found in the closet at my Grandma's house when I was a teenager and she let me bring home. Behind that is one of the most precious pictures that I own. It is of my Grandpa Warren, holding Leila. Leila is probably 2, I think the picture was taking during the week we spent in Tabor after Grandma died and I love the positioning of my dear grandpa with my beautiful baby against the backdrop of the family farm. You can't see the picture, just the frame, but take my word for it. Or look at the picture in question here: Photobucket

March 23

Sometimes a girl just needs to buy herself some spring blooms.

March 22

The beginnings of our project...our first veggie garden. Leila and I picked up the seeds and supplies ourselves. She wanted carrots, and radishes for Papa Carey. I wanted JalapeƱos. We will see how this experiment turns out.

March 21

A visit from the Howard/Phillips family is as good a reason as any to have an impromptu family dinner. I am reminded all of the time of how lucky that I am. I have great siblings and beautiful Nieces and Nephew. My cup runeth over.

March 20

Junie B. Jones is a bedtime favorite at our house, and even Thea wanted in on the action.

March 19

One last birthday gift that I had to post about because it is too stinkin cute for words. Bryce and Eli painted this name train for little Thea, how sweet is that?!

March 18

We have this very nice Friday night routine with our friends the Weber's. Though it is probably only once a month, it is such a nice time to get to hang out and let our kids play. Matt and Cindy are our oldest couple friends, and they have both been there since the beginning of "Cory and Tricia." It is kind of crazy to think that 10 years ago we were hanging out at mine and Cindy's apartment on Lincoln Ave, drinking beer and watching our 19 inch tube TV, and now here we are hanging out with our FIVE children and still drinking beer. Luckily, Leila and Thea seem to have quite a bond of their own with the Weber boys, their Friday night dinner dates.

March 17

I am winding down the week of Thea with a shot of her bedroom wall. Both of the girls have some uppercase living decals up in their rooms, and that is about it for decorations. I put these up in their rooms the day we closed on the house, before the girls had even been in their finished rooms yet. Gift of God is the Greek meaning of Thea's name. Wait for April and the week of Leila for a shot of her special decorations too!

March 16

Everyday when we get home from School we have to determine who will get to get the mail from the mailbox, and who can push the button the shut the garage door. Generally, Leila gets the mail and today she ran across the yard, "Mommy! There's something for kids in here!"

The girls were occupied by the Target Easter catalog long enough for me to get dinner going. Win win!

March15

And yet another Birthday present...This is one lucky little shoe girl.

March 14

This kid loves shoes, a lot.
