I am done. I have bored even myself with this blog, so for now on, I will just be back to selectively updating my regular blog instead of forcing a picture every day. It just wasn't working out for me. Jumpingdaisy.com

We had the pleasure of watching Mabel so her parents could have a date night. As soon as I sat down with her I had two more little girls on my lap. You may guess that it was because they were jealous of Mabel getting my attention, but in fact, they were jealous of me getting Mabel's attention. They spent all night trying to impress her and giving her lots of hugs!

Just as I posted Thea's bedroom wall during the week of her birthday, here is Leila's. I feel like I have blogged the story of Leila's birth so many times that I shouldn't go there again, but I will say that along with "dark beauty" Leila also means, born at night. When Leila was born with already brown eyes just after the midnight hour we had no doubts about the name we had chosen for her.

At Kindergarten round up we were informed about family night at Van Allen. We figured it would be a perfect way to get to spend some time getting to know the school building and get the girls out for a little something different. We all had a nice time and the girls came home with lots of treasures that they won playing games at the carnival.

Leila was so excited that she talked about kindergarten round up for days before the big event. When we got to the school she about to burst, and when the kindergarten teachers stood at the front of the room and called for the kids to come on up and explore their new classrooms she shot out of her seat faster than anyone else and didn't look back.

This was so funny I had to take a picture. Leila is so sweet to her sister and when they sit together and Thea asks for help spooning her yogurt into her mouth, Leila is quick to volunteer to help. After Thea's yogurt was gone Leila started to dig into her own container. Only every time Leila would lift the spoon out of the container, Thea would open her mouth, hoping for just one more bite!

Today marks the end of week one of the South Beach diet carb detox. One more week to go and I can start adding in some fruit or whole grains. It hasn't been nearly as hard as I expected it to be. I haven't been craving the sugary snacks that I ate a whole lot of before, but I am feeling a little sad about not having them. I think that says a lot about my relationship with food. I don't know what I will do when I am out of this phase, and am faced with a chocolate chip muffin or a brownie, but I do know that I have learned a TON about nutrition in the past week and I am hoping to keep this up until I can feel a bit more comfortable with myself. Pictured here is taco night, with hearts of romaine taco shells. It was good, and filling!

It pains me to put this picture up. I look terrible. My hair looks totally weird, my coloring is off, likely due to a bad make up job and I am fat. But this is the only picture I have from the day...taken by my lovely mother in law who is in no way responsible for the ugliness that is this picture! :)

Leila had a birthday party to go to on Saturday evening and she was very excited about it. Friday night she told me with a sad look on her face that her friend had said that Leila's little sister was too small to go to her birthday party. Of course she is, and she did get to have a fun evening out with Daddy alone while Leila and I both tended to our other plans, but I can't get over how sweetly Leila looks out for her sister and the fact that she asked if she could bring her sister with her to the birthday party speaks volumes to me about how she feels about Thea.

The window sill in the bonus room. A medley of Brand new baby Leila pictures, two vases...one from my dear friend Amanda, one from my aunt Sheila. The centerpiece would probably be the Buddha, that I found in the closet at my Grandma's house when I was a teenager and she let me bring home. Behind that is one of the most precious pictures that I own. It is of my Grandpa Warren, holding Leila. Leila is probably 2, I think the picture was taking during the week we spent in Tabor after Grandma died and I love the positioning of my dear grandpa with my beautiful baby against the backdrop of the family farm. You can't see the picture, just the frame, but take my word for it. Or look at the picture in question here:

We have this very nice Friday night routine with our friends the Weber's. Though it is probably only once a month, it is such a nice time to get to hang out and let our kids play. Matt and Cindy are our oldest couple friends, and they have both been there since the beginning of "Cory and Tricia." It is kind of crazy to think that 10 years ago we were hanging out at mine and Cindy's apartment on Lincoln Ave, drinking beer and watching our 19 inch tube TV, and now here we are hanging out with our FIVE children and still drinking beer. Luckily, Leila and Thea seem to have quite a bond of their own with the Weber boys, their Friday night dinner dates.

I am winding down the week of Thea with a shot of her bedroom wall. Both of the girls have some uppercase living decals up in their rooms, and that is about it for decorations. I put these up in their rooms the day we closed on the house, before the girls had even been in their finished rooms yet. Gift of God is the Greek meaning of Thea's name. Wait for April and the week of Leila for a shot of her special decorations too!

Everyday when we get home from School we have to determine who will get to get the mail from the mailbox, and who can push the button the shut the garage door. Generally, Leila gets the mail and today she ran across the yard, "Mommy! There's something for kids in here!"
The girls were occupied by the Target Easter catalog long enough for me to get dinner going. Win win!
